Wow - Again, I would like to thank all those that have found the information in this blog useful.

It has been a few years since I have played Evony. But, my stats for this page prove that the game is still played by many, and newcomers need every help they can get.

If a few of the 30,000+ viewers of this blog have leant something new, then this page has served a mighty purpose.

Thank you all. Happy building and farming to you all, and may your heroes not be captured.

Now, where's my ale? Hmmm!

Speedy Item Collection

As of early January 2011 this trick no longer works. The developers have "fixed" it !!!

Why? I Don't know!

It wasn't even an exploit for anything. It just made the game experience less monotenous, and saved us from our repetitive finger strains.

BAD EVONY!!! Boooooooo!

Many of us have got to a stage where we need to collect numerous itmes that we have been saving up, but doing so takes too much time (click, click, click..........)

I have been told of an excellent way to speed these item clicks up. Here it is...

1. You will notice (below) that I have 16 MFPs ans 660 GRRs.

Collecting these would take three clicks per item, and consume alot of time in doing them.

2. Clicking the the Detail button once will produce a new popup on screen (below)

3. Clicking the Use button will then bring up this popup (we all know this!)

4. Now, this is where the speedy trick kicks in. DO NOT click the exit button.

5. Instead press the SPACE BAR. Each press of the space bar will collect another item, without this popup closing. (Eg: I would press the space bar another 15 times).

[note: sometimes another use box will appear... click this and repeat the process]

Hero Benefits (by attribute)

There are three types of attribute that a hero can have:
  • Politics
  • Attack
  • Intelligence
Each of these have multiple purposes. I will go over each attribute in turn...

Politics:
Once these are in the position of MAYOR...
  • The population of the city they are in will increase faster. The higher the level, the higher the faster the regeneration.
  • Resource production will be increased. The higher the level, the greater the increase.
  • Wall defences build times are also decreased
  • They auto-generate prestige, experience and gold.

They have no other use (that i am aware of).
_____________________________

Attack:
Once these are in the position of MAYOR...
  • The troop production time will decrease. The higher the level of attack, the faster troops can be trained.
When use to lead an army into battle, against another player or NPC, the strength of the army is increased.
_____________________________

Intelligence:
Once these are in the position of MAYOR...
  • The research time of any given technology is decreased. The higher the intelligence the faster it takes to research something.
  • If you have been attacked, and are being suppressed, the fewer casualties you will take.
  • Once an upgrade to your hero gear has been applied, the cooldown is decreased.
  • [debatable] When upgrading your star level for your hero gear, the more luckier you are in the success rate.
When used to lead an army in battle (for farming resources/medals/materials) against valleys or NPCs, the drop-rate is increased.

Easy Hero Levelling Up !!!

Pre-requisites (must haves):
  • Military Tradition at level 8 or better (level 10 preferred)
  • Iron Working at level 8 or better (level 10 preferred)
  • A Rally Spot at level 8 or better (to enable the dispatch of 80K troops, or more)
  • An NPC level 8 within a 4 minute marching distance (~8 minute round-trip)
  • A minimum of 80K warriors, or more (to enable 2 hits on the NPC, before allowing it to cool down)
Attack the NPC using a lvl10-15 hero (base50+ atk) and your maximum compliment of warriors.

Wait 6-8 minutes between attacks to guarantee medal/item drops and alot of experience and possible prestige.

This is also a very nice way to farm Wisdom, Courage and Freedom medals.

5-6 hits should get a hero from level ~10 to level 40 (or more).

:) At first you should be getting 55-65K deaths. But, this should turn into 3000+ prestige and 800K+ experience points. And, remember, as your hero strengthens, the less casualties (deaths) will be had, leading to lesser experience points and prestige being awarded.

:) :) Taken this in mind, if you are a prestige addict, it may be worth your while hiring heroes from your inn that are level 10-15 with base50+ attack. With these 'cannon fodder' heroes, attack an NPC8 with 80K warriors, and then FIRE them upon their return, replacing them with another 'like' hero for the next attack. Then, watch your prestige quickly grow!

REMEMBER: If you are using this method on a hero that is going to be kept ("a keeper"), then do not forget to upgrade it between attacks.

Here is an example: I used this technique to level-up my king. All research was at level 10 and the gear he was wearing was level 6...

Conquering an NPC level 8 city

Here is my tested way of conquering a Lvl8 NPC efficiently:

Pre-requisites (must haves):
  • Military Tradition at level 8 or better (level 10 preferred)
  • Iron Working at level 8 or better (level 10 preferred)
  • Medicine at level 8 or better (level 10 preferred)
  • Feasting Hall at level 8 or better (level 10 preferred)
  • Rally Spot at level 8 or better (level 10 preferred)
  • An NPC level 8 within a 4 minute marching distance
  • 7 (or more) Heroes with 150+ attack
  • Approximately 250K warriors (or more)
  • 80K archers (or more)
  • 10 scouts
  • a FREE city slot
Firstly, scout the city to be conquered with your scouts, until you get a defending hero of level 9 or less (level 1 being the best, to your lower casualties).

If you have penicillin, corselet or warhorn (or even better, all three), apply them. These will also lower your losses, but are not a necessity.

Attack the NPC using your best attack hero and: 15K warriors and the rest filled with archers (65K or more).

...wait 15-30secs...

Then attack with a full compliment of warriors (80K or more). This should clear all defences

Continue... by sending waves of 10K warriors and 10K archers every 90 seconds (or less), until the NPC's loyalty reaches zero and the city becomes yours.

As you can see from this screenshot, there are a few ways to achieve a victory report (1st attempt):

Notice the total losses... not that many!!! This is a good indication for the number of troops to send in your next wave(s).

I normally send FOUR TIMES THE AMOUNT OF DEATHS.

Facebook posts etiquette

Every now and then a box will pop up in Evony where it gives you a quest you can share with your Facebook friends. This is usually some kind of problem they can help you solve. You can choose to either share this on facebook, or just skip it. If you skip it, you won’t be able to get back to it, so I suggest you share all your quests on Facebook and hope someone do them for you.

Doing an Evony quest on Facebook will reward both the player posting the quest, and also the Facebook friend of his who does the quest. There are many type of rewards, it all depends on what type of quest it is. You have nothing to loose in doing a Facebook quest for a friend of yours, nothing is taken out of your own account for completeing your friends quest. All you get is a nice reward.

You don’t have to be the ally of someone to help them do the quest, so when it comes to Facebook quests it is an advantage to have a lot of friend on Facebook who play Evony.

There are certain benefits for everyone who post pop-up events to their facebook profiles.
  • Some posts help you
  • Others help the person that clicked your post
  • And, a few help both parties involved
Here is a list of events, and the respective rewards to having them clicked by others:

The Black Death - the postee gets penicillin, and the clicker gets gold.
