Conquering an NPC level 8 city

Here is my tested way of conquering a Lvl8 NPC efficiently:

Pre-requisites (must haves):
  • Military Tradition at level 8 or better (level 10 preferred)
  • Iron Working at level 8 or better (level 10 preferred)
  • Medicine at level 8 or better (level 10 preferred)
  • Feasting Hall at level 8 or better (level 10 preferred)
  • Rally Spot at level 8 or better (level 10 preferred)
  • An NPC level 8 within a 4 minute marching distance
  • 7 (or more) Heroes with 150+ attack
  • Approximately 250K warriors (or more)
  • 80K archers (or more)
  • 10 scouts
  • a FREE city slot
Firstly, scout the city to be conquered with your scouts, until you get a defending hero of level 9 or less (level 1 being the best, to your lower casualties).

If you have penicillin, corselet or warhorn (or even better, all three), apply them. These will also lower your losses, but are not a necessity.

Attack the NPC using your best attack hero and: 15K warriors and the rest filled with archers (65K or more).

...wait 15-30secs...

Then attack with a full compliment of warriors (80K or more). This should clear all defences

Continue... by sending waves of 10K warriors and 10K archers every 90 seconds (or less), until the NPC's loyalty reaches zero and the city becomes yours.

As you can see from this screenshot, there are a few ways to achieve a victory report (1st attempt):

Notice the total losses... not that many!!! This is a good indication for the number of troops to send in your next wave(s).

I normally send FOUR TIMES THE AMOUNT OF DEATHS.

Facebook posts etiquette

Every now and then a box will pop up in Evony where it gives you a quest you can share with your Facebook friends. This is usually some kind of problem they can help you solve. You can choose to either share this on facebook, or just skip it. If you skip it, you won’t be able to get back to it, so I suggest you share all your quests on Facebook and hope someone do them for you.

Doing an Evony quest on Facebook will reward both the player posting the quest, and also the Facebook friend of his who does the quest. There are many type of rewards, it all depends on what type of quest it is. You have nothing to loose in doing a Facebook quest for a friend of yours, nothing is taken out of your own account for completeing your friends quest. All you get is a nice reward.

You don’t have to be the ally of someone to help them do the quest, so when it comes to Facebook quests it is an advantage to have a lot of friend on Facebook who play Evony.

There are certain benefits for everyone who post pop-up events to their facebook profiles.
  • Some posts help you
  • Others help the person that clicked your post
  • And, a few help both parties involved
Here is a list of events, and the respective rewards to having them clicked by others:

The Black Death - the postee gets penicillin, and the clicker gets gold.
(only the first clicker gets the reward. So, click the like button if it is you, so that no-one else wastes a click)

15 FREE game cents trick

This trick is completed by partly finishing the "Issue Commission" quest.

You will need:
  • A fake account, or a friend willing to suzerain you.
  • 15 game cents.
  • A new city (one with no defences or troops stationed there).
Firstly, transport the workers out of there or kill them.

Then either account declares war on the other (or set their diplomatic status to hostile, if in alliances).

Once war has been declared, and there are no troops in the new city, get the fake account to send 1 hero and 10 scouts to colonise that city.

...suppression begins and 8hrs are needed...

During this suppression phase, the other 'suppressing' account recalls the hero and scouts there, and reinforces it instead with approximately 50 archers or 200 warriors.

...suppression ends, and the city is now one of your fake (friend's) account's colonies.

"Oh no! You have been suzed."

Click on your suzed city, and choose Issue Commssion.....

The minimum reward you can set for this is 15 game cents.
NOTE: The higher the city to be used in this quest the more game cents will be needed for the reward. (A level 10 city will require 55 game cents as a reward).

Upon issuing the commission, you will rewarded with 15 cents. CLAIM THESE FIRST.

After claiming your 15 cents ABANDON the suzed city, as soon as possible. You will then reclaim the 15 cents you offered for a reward for this quest.

Done! You are now 15 game cents richer.

The DropRate buff CHEAT !!!

Here is a really fast way to get your drop rate maxxed in the fastest possible way....

You will need:
  • Someone who is willing to be suzerained by you (hint: a fake account).
  • That person (fake) must have enough resources to make 400 cities (the max needed).
  • That person (fake) must make a temporary alliance and declare themselves as HOSTILE against your alliance.
The fake person makes a colony. Builds a rally spot in it (speed built) and gets his workers to a safe place for later on (back to where they came from!). The city should now be empty!

You attack the city with your fastest hero and 1 scout.

You win, and the suppression begins.

At this point your Colonize Achievement registers that +1 colony has been done.

The "fake" person then deletes that colony, and the hero and scout return automatically.

REPEAT :-)

The downside to this is, that the abandonned city remains there, as is, until the server maintenance is performed, when it is then removed from the map and becomes a flat again.

For optimum (cheapest) results I suggest taking low level flats and making these into the cities on subject.

Scouting

Getting intelligence before making attacks in Evony is really important so you don’t end up loosing battles and wasting troops attacking someone with no resources. NPCs in Evony don’t have any scouts of themselves, so you don’t have to worry about loosing your scouts in a battle when you try to scout them. The only problem scouting NPCs in Evony is that you need high enough informatics technology to get an accurate scout report. If your informatics level is too low, you won’t get any information at all from your scouting report.

Usually informatics is the first technology I get to level 10 starting on a new server, that’s how important I believe intelligence is in Evony. To find out how many troops there are in NPC cities, you can just look at tables for that, they are posted everywhere on the web. When it comes to valleys however, how many troops and what types differers a lot so you have to scout first to be sure what kind of an army you are facing. I usually use 1,000 scouts when scouting valleys, no reason to use more. You need the same level informatics or higher to get an accurate scout report when you scout NPCs, else you will just get estimates like the ones listed below.
  • Few: 1 – 24
  • Pack: 25 – 49
  • Lots: 50 – 99
  • Horde: 100 – 249
  • Throng: 250 – 499
  • Swarm: 500 – 999
  • Zounds: 1000-2499
  • Legion: 2500 – 4999
  • Bulk: 5000 – 9999
  • Giga: >10,000
When you scout players you need enough scouts to beat theirs in a scout battle if they happen to have gates open. I usually start with 1,000 scouts when I scout players. If they die with no report I know they have a lot of scouts and I have to send a much larger scout force at them to get a report. If none of my scouts die that means that they either have gates closed or that they don’t have any scouts at all. With high level informatics you can get all kinds of information about their city. You get to know their fortifications, number of troops, buildings, number of resources and also all their technologies and their levels.
